Ricks Family | Family Documentary | Mobile Family Documentary Photographer | Mobile Alabama

The Ricks Family was so kind and invited me over to document their last couple of days in their sweet midtown Mobile Alabama home before they moved Florida. This home held so many special memories for them and Christina wanted me to capture the essence of the home exactly how it was.

Harper | Family Documentary | Orange Beach, Alabama Family Documentary Photographer

I was honored to have been able to document the Duncan and Harper Family beach trip this past week. Elizabeth, who is a photographer herself in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, contacted me and I immediately said yes! I was truly honored that another photographer would want me to capture her and her family enjoying their vacation.

I met Elizabeth and her family in Orange Beach, Alabama. Her mother, father, sister and her family were already at the beach soaking up the sun. The beach was packed full of beach goers enjoying their day by the sea. Elizabeth’s son was quick to jump in and find sea shells. It was such a fun day!

By the end of the afternoon, I felt so connected to this sweet family. Being able to document their annual vacation to Orange Beach was so special. As a mom and a photographer I was happy for Elizabeth because she plays double duty when it comes to capturing her family’s moments. This time, she was able to not only be in the photos, but to enjoy the day.

Lindell | Family Documentary | Fairhope, Alabama Family Documentary Photographer

Rachel wanted to document her family one last time in the home that meant the most to her. This was the first home her and husband bought together. This was the home that welcomed both of her children. This was the home that helped start their story.

Rachel loved her front yard. She told me that her family had lots of picnics, relaxation, and every inch of that yard has been full of laughter. So we spent the entire afternoon reminiscing on special memories that her family shared in that house, playing, and eating popsicles. It was a laid back fun afternoon. No schedule, no prompts. Just hanging out and letting the day unfold.

Almond | Family Documentary | Fairhope Family Photographer

When the Almonds contacted me about doing a family documentary session, I was beyond excited! Family Documentary is my favorite genre of photography. The simplicity and authenticity of it all is not only exciting as a photographer, but as a mom, its extremely heartwarming and beautiful.

Unscripted, unposed, real moments. Those are the moments that last forever.

So after discussing what the day in the life at the Almonds house consisted of we decided to go for a #targetrun.

Eason | Fresh 48 | Fairhope Newborn Photographer

Meet Bowen.

This sweet adorable little babe is just too cute for words.

I was so touched and honored to have been able to capture this moment for the Eason's.

The Eason's and I met earlier this year when I captured a mama and me session for Jordan and her son, Barrett. We quickly realized that Zach and my husband served alongside in the Alabama National Guard. It was a fun moment between us all!

Sudduth | Fairhope Newborn Photographer

I met Caitlin two years ago at Thomas Hospital in Fairhope, Alabama. If you know me personally, than you know that the past 4 years have been pretty tough on me and my family. My first son, Patrick, was born at 26 weeks due to me having severe pre-eclampsia and post-HELLP syndrome and we have dealt with a lot of medical issues since then.

Fast forward to two years ago. We were trying every which way to help my son to not only talk but to eat. Early Intervention recommended we go see a feeding specialist, so we asked our doctor for a recommendation to help us find a specialist.

 Enter Caitlin.

Caitlin became my family's hero. She gave my son the confidence and tools to not only talk but to eat. She also gave us a referral to see another specialist to laser off a tongue tie that we had no idea he even had! Caitlin will always have a special place in my family's heart. She helped give my son a chance and helped him to not get left behind.  How do you know not love someone like that.

So when Caitlin told me she was expecting and asked me to take her newborn portraits of her son, I immediately said yes! After all that she had done for my son Patrick, I knew I wanted to capture this precious time for her.

When I arrived at our session, we chatted about what moms chat about-our kids. We laughed and exchanged parenthood tips. She was truly glowing during the entire session.

Motherhood looks beautiful on her.

What is Family Documentary? | Fairhope Family Photographer

Family Documentary is an upcoming genre that is unposed and unscripted. Instead of buying new outfits and meeting me at a gorgeous location, I will come to you where you let me in and capture perfect moments that tell your family story.

These sessions are my absolute favorite because they are so real and true. There is so much beauty in the everyday moments and these moments need to be celebrated and documented because you are enough, just the way you are.
