Cera and I go wayyyyyy back. Like all the way to middle school back. So when she emailed 5 years ago to photograph her first baby…I was thrilled. To have the privilege to photograph her growing family throughout the years has been such an honor and quite honestly, just so lovely to watch. One of my favorite family sessions to date. You know why? Because the we were chasing the sun, avoiding the wind, and having to live in the moment instead of forcing moments. If you have kids you know. Between littles and unpredictable weather, you have to be ready to move and go with the flow. I love being able to find the joy in the most unpredictable moments..in the most ordinary moments. I love being able to catch a moment that I know a mother, father, and future generations will look back on and cherish, talk about, giggle over, or even cry about.

This girl and her family are so special to me. We have become such good friends over the years through our careers. Kelly contacted me earlier this year about scheduling her family photos and I was so excited to hear from her. Kelly took my motherhood workshop a couple of years and has really grown as a photographer. She takes the most beautiful photos of her little boy and is just a overall sweet human being. I was so happy when Natalie messaged me. Natalie is beyond a talented woman and if you know her, you love her. She is a trainer at the local gym here in Fairhope, Fit Fairhope. She is also an amazing seamstress and just started a children’s line as well ( Threads and Bobbins and Threads and Bobbins Clothing.) So to work with her and her precious family was such a treat! Natalie and her sweet family were just days away from visiting their family from the UK and got up very early to meet me to take their family photos. The magic that these three share is beautiful, nothing but short of a fairytale.

I have watched the Luckie family grow since their oldest son, Crosby, was one year old. They invited me into their home in Fairhope, Alabama to take his one year portraits.
The rest is history.
Now it’s Chandler’s turn.
From Chandler’s newborn photos, to his six month photos, to now his one year photos. Watching and documenting these moments for Brittany and Corey have been such a privilege. It means the world to me, honestly.

I truly love family documentary sessions. They are hands down my favorite thing to capture. Having a family welcome me into their home and be completely raw and real with me while I’m clicking away is just beautiful.
Christy reached out to me and explained how much she really wanted everyday life photos of her and her family. She and her family had recently moved to the Fairhope, Alabama from Canada and she wanted some photos of her with her family in their new house just doing their thing. She went on to explain that she has maybe a handful of photos of her with her kids and how she desperately wanted some of her just adoring her children doing all of the mundane things that they do on a daily basis. That’s when I immediately felt connected to her because us moms are usually the ones taking photos. I knew I had to get those moments her.

Allison contacted a couple of weeks ago and said her and her family will be traveling from West Virginia and staying in Fairhope for a couple of days to visit family. During her stay she wanted to capture the charm of our sweet little town with some family photos. Her son was going to turn two and she wanted to document this little time before his birthday.
I was not only honored that she asked me to do this, but I was thrilled to do this for her. She was so sweet and kind and I knew our session was going to be lovely.
I love lifestyle sessions. Especially sessions like Allisons. No fuss, no props, just great conversation and authentic emotion. Plus, this town of mine has a lot to offer and is a beautiful backdrop for photos.. Why not take advantage and explore the town!
We strolled and window shopped, took the iconic clock photograph that is truly a must for locals and visitors a like, and ended our session at Mr. Genes Beans Ice cream shop.
It was a wonderful afternoon and I walked away feeling like Allison and her family were more like friends than clients.

Rachel wanted to document her family one last time in the home that meant the most to her. This was the first home her and husband bought together. This was the home that welcomed both of her children. This was the home that helped start their story.
Rachel loved her front yard. She told me that her family had lots of picnics, relaxation, and every inch of that yard has been full of laughter. So we spent the entire afternoon reminiscing on special memories that her family shared in that house, playing, and eating popsicles. It was a laid back fun afternoon. No schedule, no prompts. Just hanging out and letting the day unfold.
