Read MoreCera and I go wayyyyyy back. Like all the way to middle school back. So when she emailed 5 years ago to photograph her first baby…I was thrilled. To have the privilege to photograph her growing family throughout the years has been such an honor and quite honestly, just so lovely to watch. It’s such a beautiful testimony to God to see your friends, and loved ones grow, mature, and start their own families, and adventures. I love being to document someone’s story.

Read MoreKelly contacted me earlier this year about scheduling her family photos and I was so excited to hear from her. Kelly took my motherhood workshop a couple of years and has really grown as a photographer. She takes the most beautiful photos of her little boy and is just a overall sweet human being. When we spoke she mentioned doing them at the historic Fort Morgan down in Fort Morgan. I was so excited to go down and explore with her and her family.

Read MoreI truly love family documentary sessions. They are hands down my favorite thing to capture. Having a family welcome me into their home and be completely raw and real with me while I’m clicking away is just beautiful.
Christy reached out to me and explained how much she really wanted everyday life photos of her and her family. She and her family had recently moved to the Fairhope, Alabama from Canada and she wanted some photos of her with her family in their new house just doing their thing. She went on to explain that she has maybe a handful of photos of her with her kids and how she desperately wanted some of her just adoring her children doing all of the mundane things that they do on a daily basis. That’s when I immediately felt connected to her because us moms are usually the ones taking photos. I knew I had to get those moments her.

What should I wear to my session?
I get asked all the time by clients when preparing for their upcoming session. As a photographer, it’s not only my job to capture the moments that will reveal themselves during your session. But it is also my job to help you look and feel beautiful.
So here are a few tips to help make your next session less stressful and more fun.

Read MoreThe Manes Family contacted me and told me that they were coming into Fairhope, Alabama for a little quick getaway. They loved everything about the charm that Fairhope had to offer and wanted a laid back lifestyle family session right in the heart of Fairhope. Fairhope, Alabama is truly one in a million. It’s currently growing at a raid rate, but even through all of the growth, this little town hasn’t lost any charm or southern hospitality. It’s proudly holding onto its roots. I’m so lucky to call this place my home.
So when the Manes finally came into town, we discovered that Tropical Storm Gordon was to make landfall any day. We quickly checked our schedules and the weather radar and decided an early morning session in downtown Fairhope was best so we could avoid all of what Mother Nature had in store of us later.
The Manes Family was quite honestly fun. From getting breakfast at our local bookstore, Page and Palette, to strolling around and window shopping in some of our famous little shops.
It’s sessions like these that I’m so grateful and blessed to have families that trust me to capture and document their memories. Sessions don’t have to be stiff. Just bring your family, a whole lot of love and I’ll add the fun. The simple things are what memories are made of.

The days are long, but the years are short. Really short.
Being a mother is hard. Motherhood doesn’t come with vacation days or even sick days. It’s hard to describe but even through the sweat and tears, there is a a kind of joy, a joy that only a mother could really understand. It’s 3 AM feedings, scrapped knee kisses, and the ‘one more song mama’ even though you have already sang twenty.
It’s an unconditional love.

More of them,
My family will come first more than ever this year. I will be sharing more of them too. They are my muses. My inspiration. They are the reason I love what I do.
When the Almonds contacted me about doing a family documentary session, I was beyond excited! Family Documentary is my favorite genre of photography. The simplicity and authenticity of it all is not only exciting as a photographer, but as a mom, its extremely heartwarming and beautiful.
Unscripted, unposed, real moments. Those are the moments that last forever.
So after discussing what the day in the life at the Almonds house consisted of we decided to go for a #targetrun.
Read MoreIt's not everyday that I get the opportunity to capture engagement sessions. So, when Allison contacted me and asked if I would be interested I immediately said yes!
I knew these two were up for anything when we arrived to our destination and it started to rain. Instead of seeing an obstacle, these two saw an adventure. We all decided to move forward and trek through the rain and climb over broken pier boards and arrived to a quiet little spot at one of the local public beaches. I immediately knew these were my kind of people. (Mind y'all, I was 8 months pregnant at the time, so I felt like superwoman with these two.)

As a mother of two boys and another boy due very soon, I personally love capturing the moments between a mother and daughter. I love watching the bond that is constantly blooming. I had SO much fun hanging out with this family. We laughed, played games, and really got to know one another. One thing that connected me to this family is how similar our families are. Sarah and I have had similar pregnancies, we love the same names, and we both love large families.
I consider this family more like friends after our session.

Family Documentary is something that I LOVE sooo much. These sessions are real and authentic. I approach these sessions like as if I am a 'fly on the wall.' These sessions are not posed and are unscripted. I capture everything from the sweet snuggles to the full blown out temper tantrums.
These sessions mirror what I capture of my own family and I think that is why I love them so much because I am giving my clients something real. Something they will be able to look back and remember how those days really use to be.
I had a couple of these sessions last year, but one that sticks out the most is my time with Ric and Lauren Bennett.
